Newbie here, my cajun sucker came in today and is currently getting put together. My question is, if I get bit by the BowBug is the Bowfish ready tracker a good bang for the buck? I mean I tried to price all the parts on it separately and it comes just under the asking price without the labor. I've heard the wiring is a little cheap and the battery will run out running lights and trollin but i would think light mods would set this rig up correct. Im just a beginner and i've read some old posts on thoughts about this but haven't seen anything new. Or should I wait till beginning of 2015 and see what the competitors are putting out? There's a couple of boat shows in Jan 15 and Mar 15 here but i hope i'm not to dam antsy to wait. thanks for any input....

I don't have any personal experience with it, but it doesn't seem like an ideal tournament rig, but would work great for having fun with friends and family on the water. If you can wait id see if they change anything for the next model or if anyone else comes out with something else.
Best of luck, and keep us posted on your decision.

I haven't heard of many tournaments down here but hopefully they will be coming. What would make it better fitted for a tournament? It holds 4 and think i would get the 90 hp. I've read blogs about how fun the tournaments are up north and i def wanna get my game on if it comes down here. Most of those boats look like air boats, is that what you mean by tourny ready? Being able to get into places props cant? Thanks for input.

I would say look at craigslist first. some good deals can be found there. expecially in the fall. Also if you mostly shoot muddy water I would try to avoid LED lights because they can glare bad and not "cut" the water as good as HPS or even halo's for that matter. For the 2 tournaments I have shot in we had everything from airboats to V bottoms to people shooting with spot lights. Its all about having fun for me. I was riding on a 16 flat bottom with 8 150w HPS and we took 5th the first time and 3 the last one.good luck to you
