Water was clear last weekend over on this side. Some pretty good spawning starting to go on too. I can't go this weekend but I'm hoping to get out early next week.

When you see them in tight groups 2s,3s,or 4s rolling across the surface then you are into the spawn. They are generally always schooling fish and will be in groups of possible thousands year round. And they will begin jumping several weeks before they begin to spawn, they do that to loosen up their eggs.

Also I heard shoot the female first. She the big one. I heard if you shoot her first the smaller males will stay around longer, looking for the female of course. But if you shoot a male first, you have a good chance of spooking the female and she will lead all the males away with her

Most of the fish have finally spawned in the sagnasty bay.
Still shooting about 10% of females with eggs yet though.

I'm loving this weather. I'm not a fan of heat, plus this cool wet weather is helping the water levels a ton. Saginaw bay is up almost 2 foot from the fall.

thats awesome. I just hate how it seems to rain on the weekends around here. that or the day before i wanna go bowfishing. All the water is still muddy around here but at least I dont have to worrie about logs as much. and the shallow areas we couldnt reach last year are now reachable

The bay has had clear spots and muddy spots all spring. It changes instantly too...it's weird. You can go from chocolate milk to 3-5 foot of visibility by moving 10 feet The fish seem to be in the muddy water in about 3 foot of water. We've been following the edges of the mucky water and have been doing pretty good.

My son and I went out at night on July 27 launching from Sebewaing and ended up shooting a 55 barrel full in about 4 hours. LOTS of Gars.
Nice. We killed a lot of gar out there in the bam tournament too.

It looks like I will be taking up a group to Saginaw Bay this Saturday night. I just raised my deck 6 1/2" and might have a new light to try.
Nice! good luck. Lots of fish out there as of 2 weeks ago.
