Bass boat for bowfishing?

Anyone done any bowfishing from a bass boat? Seems like it might work ok - the draft might be a little much. Most have a nice front deck but lights might be a problem for night time arrow flinging. Just thinking outloud as I consider my options.

We used my buddies bass boat all last summer. Worked pretty good. He made a bracket thing for the lights so he could take them on and off pretty easily.

the bracketing was made of welded square tubing. I will see if I can get a pic of his setup.

What didn't you like about it or would change to have made it better?
Fiberglass....so we didn't have the confidence to get into the really shallow stuff.
My second bowfishing boat was a bass boat bowfish out of it for two years. Down fall was I can't get in to shallow water. Good thing was it would run 70mph and get me there fast.

How would you compare it to your current setup?

I had a flats boat when I lived in Miami but didn't bowfishing from it just fished. It would have worked very well I think.
I like my SeaArk boat I have now. Good thing I can get in shallower water Its open no storage expect on front deck.

Down fall it rides rough in choppy water 43 top speed other then that I love it I can still use it as all round boat. fishing, bowfishing, skiing, hunting

43 ain't to bad. I just want something that can go shallow and is very stable. Would love an airboat but am considering less expensive options that would fit the bill. I have come to the realization that the bow is how I want to do it all.

A lot of guys around here run 1860 slick bottoms with big outboards to get around the great lakes. Then they have a pusher fan mounted to troll through the shallow water to shoot. They can get into about 4 inches pretty easy.
i had a bass boat when i started. worked great. killed a lot of fish and ran smooth while everyone else was getting beat up

id really like to see this set up. i really want to make mounting system for lights on my bass boat but don't have the imagination to think of away to make a removable mount
We used a friends last year and looking like we will have to again this year. Boat Hunting Wood Arthropod Crab

I didn't want to make anything complicated either, so here is what I ended up doing... I got some clamp on rod holders to hold some PVC tubes. I mounted a combination of LED and halogen 12V tractor lights on them and secured them with some nuts and bolts (on both ends, to keep them from falling in the water). The lights are just hooked up to a deep cycle battery.
