changing shaft on my trolling motor

broke my carbon fiber shaft the other night it broke in half luckily i had another old motor with carbon shaft. pretty much take out all the guts and magic mark housing across so you put back together right if you flip flop your forward is reverse and reverse is forward speaking from experience here. and start applying heat on the motor part (aluminum) not the shaft heat all the way around then try to unscrew. if no movement apply some more heat. took me 3 tries of heating before coming unscrewed. when unscrewing if starts to get hard again apply more heat if you muscle through it you will probably lose some of the threads of the shaft like i found out on the initial motor which was the unbroken shaft.after learning this the broken shaft come out perfect. so a little jb weld on threads screwed in shaft so far so good. hope this helps somebody
