K here is question for you, What do you do with the fish after you get done bowfishing. Side of road, School grounds, Play grounds, Trash can, Bury them, Dump them in the middle of the river/lake, Eat them, Boat ramp, or give them away. So what do you do with the fish.

Me I buried them, put in trash, dumped them out in the middle of the river/lake, ate them, until I got a phone call thamks to one of my sisters. The Wildlife Sanctuary of Northwest Florida called me and asked if I could help them out with some fish to help feed the animals. My answer was YES. My sister is good friends with the director of the sanctuary and she told her that I do alot of bowfishing and would she be interested in some fish for the animals of course she gave her my number.

So now I have a good home from all my unwanted fish.

So check around your area and see if you can find a place that is willing to take your unwanted fish, Farmers, Wildlife Sanctuary, Turtle farms, Hog farms, Gator farms, ETC.

Its becoming a big deal in some states about dumping fish on side of the road, boat ramps, peoples back yard.

We dump then on a friends land. he uses them for coyote bait. They stink really bad and alot of people hate when you dump them by the shore or the side of the road. We get some dirty looks when they see the boat. there are always some that pull off the arrow and I think they think we are dumping them back

When I first started shooting I just walked ditches. Shoot and release. allegedly lol. Now I burry them in the garden or around the apple trees in the back yard. A guy got busted shooting and leaving the fish in the lagoon. Ended up paying somewhere around $100/fish for around 20 dead fish they saw him shoot that night.

Not without a commercial fishing license.
What kind of fish you shoot that people want to eat that bad?

I am working on donating some of mine to a hog farmer this year. I usually just dump them on my property. I find its about 170 yards distance is needed for no fowl smell.

i got a mex that i wrk with and he will take all i can shoot !! his fam loves em so i tld him i could hook em up as long as he gets those stinkin things out of my boat 1st thing nxt morn... im glad ppl mentioned hog farmer i got couple of friend that im sure they would tk em 2 feed hogs....handnt even thought bout that

I give my fish to a fella that eats em. We call him he picks up the barrels and brings the barrels back hand washed and clean.

I dont complain at all.

I think they would have to be hard up for food to accept carp. Especially from our area. I'm surprised they don't all glow at night.

I think a public dumpster for bowfisherman would be a good idea. Have one by big bowfishing launches and then use them to make a natural fertilizer. heck they could even sell the fertilizer and use the money to keep the business going.

That would be a difficult option. The smell after 3/4 day would be considerable. The flies would be potentially a problem as well.
