G'day from down under. My name is Josh, sadly bowfishing is frowned upon in Oz so here I am on your forum. I love the American following of bowfishing & the videos I've watched on YouTube are sensational. The talent & technology is something to envy here. I go down to the local creeks & inlets chasing common carp in anywhere between 5 inches of water to as deep as 5 feet with my regular spot producing 2 foot plus sized fish with some people in the area telling me bigger fish are down further from where I go. I do most of my fishing at night with a torch permantly mounted to my bow which works well (apart from short battery life) but with 2 spare battery's on hand I can get a good 4 hrs of shooting in. Current rig is a 2012 stinger 3G set @ 60lbs with a new bow on order. I use the simple but effective bohning spool/arrow combo but the new bow will have the AMS pro retriever. I'm using the standard arrow tip that is provided with the bohning kit however after shooting a few decent size carp in the barb starts to freely spin which is causing me problems so I'm currently looking at new tips (not much in Oz as far as new bowfishing gear because of its restrictions). Been doing archery since 1998 but in the last 12 months its turned strictly to fishing. Can't wait to get some tips & learn a few things here & there. Cheers
PS. I'll have to learn a bit of American lingo & in return I'll teach you our lingo
