Cool looking fish. The picture is kinda small to see what it is but it looks like a gold carp to me. What did it weigh?

Common carp have several different types of mutations that include leather carp (no scales) mirror carp (large spotty scales) and several others. They actually have a rather high mutation rate and new forms of mutations are continually being formed while others are becoming even more common like mirror carp. In some areas I believe they are close to 10% of all common carp. I've personally shot 1 leather and one mirror. Neither were full mutations but it was present.

Definitely a cool fish. Would be cool if that mutation caught on a little. If like to shoot a few.

That's a gold carp or a koi. It's basically just a color phase of a common carp that formed into its own sub species. That's still a huge one though. These are goldfish.

The river I usually shoot on was loaded with em last year. I think we ended up with close to a doz compared to the 1-2 in previous years.
