My elbow was terribly aggravated this last year from holding my bow for long lengths of time. I'd like to not aggravate it right away in March at the beginning of the season as even now it still seems to be healing somewhat.

Pole spear? spear gun? Whatever I use it will be from the boat above water. I don't think a crossbow would solve my problem.

Suggestions? I'd like to be able to use my current arrow points as they seem to work very well on the carpies.

What about some kind of sling? Something that could rest and you just pick the bow up too shoot. That way you could keep your set up but have a way to spread the weight out. As I remember your recurve is pretty light so I'm not to sure of anything that would be lighter.

Make a little rack that you can lean your bow in while your not shooting. Something that keeps it upright right in front of you. Would probably be a pain, but I'd rather do that than use a spear.
