im 19 got a 17 year old girlfireind, i have 3 bows but all to much for her to pull back. shes a tiny thing, any ideas of a good cheap inexpensive bow? would a mathews genesis be enough poundage to penetrate through the fish? mostly shooting commons, gar, bowfin, cats, buffalo/

yea outlaw belive it or not that is 1 badass lil bow.....my 10 yr ol has got 1 and it will flatout stick a fish 2 the bottom..they say it shoot equiv 2 a 30lb recurve,,,,he has shot many many gar wth it !! very good investment

yea u could go that route if u want but u just asked bout tha mathews genesis but like upsouth811 said the pse disc is a good bow and will b wth u 4 awhile....he has also got a cheap lil split limb bear from walmart...think i pd $90 or so....we done a puddy rest and i had 2 drill &tap ( 5/16 @24 threads ) 4 tha reelseat.....if i was u i would just barrow 1 to c how she likes it b4 i sunk alot of $$$ into it...

My wife is getting along great with her Diamond Infinite Edge, 5 to 70 lbs and 75 precent let off.
I concur that this is probably the "best" bow for beginners and females - but - its not a cheap bow so unless they are committed to staying with archery, it might not be a first choice. They are awesome though. And if commited to archery I dont think you can go better than this.,
