used to break my running light (the white one) quite often. always forgot to remove it when i got to the fishing hole. removed my light and wires from tube then measured up about ten inches from base and then cut it with hacksaw. found a old trampoline spring that fit perfect on mine. mixed up some JB weld then slid spring on couple inches on one side of tube then did the same to other side. had to splice a few more inches of wire to compensate for spring length. put all back together but it was a little too springy for me so started wrapping spring with electrical tape till i was happy with the movement. hasn't broke yet been using for 6 years.

Great thinking. Haven't had that problem yet but I might do it just in case.
