What do you mean by retriever?

An AMS retriever reel. No buttons, just a lever to pull in when you wind. They are a little slower to wind in than a spinner like you have and it is more difficult to fight big fish, but not having to worry about a button and no drag on the arrow put them above spinners IMO. But a lot of guys don't like them and swear by spinners...I guess it's all personal preference.

I have tendonitis in my left elbow pretty bad at the moment and can't use a retriever without considerable pain. Which is why I keep shooting the spinner, besides the fast retrieval speed when I miss all the time
