I am crazy for archery, but I've never bowfished before, but I really want to get started, so I figured this might be a place to come and learn about how it's done.

Welcome. Great sport to get into. Where you from?
I live in the Raleigh, NC area. Where I'm from is harder to pin down. I guess, push comes to shove, I still consider myself a California girl, but I've been away from Cali for 5 years and I was born in Texas, so at this point, who knows.
Thanks, Aaron. I'm excited to be a part of this forum, it has inspired me to actually get moving on bowfishing. I've been meaning to do it for a long time, as I'm such an avid archer. So far, I've bought my fishing license and a bowfishing arrow since joining. I'm shopping around for a good recurve rig. I think I'm going to go with the Sand Shark with the AMS pro kit or whatever it's called. Reasonable price, totally decked out, nice and traditional. I'm looking forward to getting started.

Though I have to say, as much as I love trad kit, if I win that giveaway I'd be totally excited. That fish hawk is a cool looking bow.
Thanks guys!

Bowfishing girl - nice to see another girl interested in this sport. I've never been the hunting/fishing type, but I do so much target archery that I really want to try using a bow for its intended purpose. I figured fish might be a nice way to get my feet wet before moving on to larger animals.
