Okay lets here what you think is best! Rail or No Rail raised platforms?

I've always gone no rail but plan to put one on this seasons setup. Probably knee high-ish. But I like a flush deck not raised.

I'd say rail but it don't need to be that high ours is just below the knee but it gives u something to use as a guide. When I stand on ours I put my one leg against it so I know where it's at while I'm shooting

i always sai di would never put a rail on mine but as u can see on the pix that i did this year and i love it .....the way my lights r i would have a prob with my line gettin hung on em...i put the rail on and its awesome !!!! when we shoot now the line just slides on top and its no prob !!

I shoot off a flush deck now. I had a raised deck with a rail I didn't like it CAUSE I had to far to fall off the deck into the water in I flipped off the front.

Yes I fall out the boat, when I had the raised desk I hit a log one night and flipped over the rail cut my back and leg and broke the rail. So I took it off and now I shoot off a flush deck I do not have far to fall now.

Now I just walk off the front of the boat when I hit something and I can land on my feet.

That's hard to do if you don't have a raised platform.

my rail runs with the same degree as the side of tha boat.my trolling motor is inside the rail....it helps to protect my lights when i pull to the docks....i havent been thowed off the front yet but my neice went over 1 night now that shit was funny...and its kinda cool 2 have the rail cause when we crappie fish i can put my rod holders on the rail and sit bck and relax......

I have decided to wait until i get it out on the water and see how the much advantage and how high to make it.
