I was wondering if anyone here bowfishes with a aluminum risered takedown?

I am looking at maybe picking up a Martin Jaguar as a good knock around bowfishing rig. I used a buddys recurve all last year. And while a great rig. It was only a 48 inch model. It seemed to have some issue with my 30in draw length.

Anyone use anything in the 62 to 64 inch range?

I am thinking trad is the way to go for me and any tips or pointers would be awesome.

I've never owned one but I've heard that American eagle bows are pretty good. I think they are a little pricy but they are half compound half recurve.

American eagle bows or oneida as most people call them are some awesome bows for sure and pricey yes they are. If you are looking into getting one of them I would go to eBay first and find one for cheap. Also they are a lil bit heavy but it's all preference and what u are looking for

I shoot a recurve Hoty Gamemaster II 62'' 55lb i love it, but this season I can't shoot it I'll be shooting Ben Pearson bow this year.

The pse kingfisher is a good recurve to shoot easy to put together and take down. Martin recurve has some problems putting it together.

If you get a take down recurve make sure you use antiseize on the limb bolts are take it down after you use it if not the limb bolts will seize up and can be hard to get out. I know.

I usually shoot my old Bear 76er. Love that bow. I can shoot 3 times faster than my friend with a compound and often get a second shot if I miss the first one. It was like $40 off craigslist. Just picked up an old oneida for $50 off Craigslist. Shoots great set at around 40#. hits like a ton of bricks and shoots faster than my bear. But the thing is heavy. personally if im going to shoot alot i will use the recurve but if im only going to shoot a couple times at big fish the Oneida is the way to go.

I like my AMS wave rest. But you really can't go wrong as long as the rest has something to keep the arrow from falling off easily. As far as reels go its all personal preference.

I love my AMS wave. No complaints at all with it.
58*-60* seems to be the magic # for the commons.

I love my Muzzy fish hook. its like $15 and works great for me. Plus its open on top making quick re-loads easy. Like really easy. Also It holds my arrows pretty darn good. I shoot at weird angles all the time and never had a arrow fall out, unless im upside down, which at that point Im in trouble anyways.
