let us know Don. I've been thinking of the film as well.
Are all of yours floods?
the wife & I went out tonight, it seemed the orange amber film was not too bad, most of the pictures were taken in 3 1/2ft to 4 1/2ft of water, the 1/2 covered lights were horrible, was like they were w/o the len film on them straight white almost. But heres some pictures of the fully covered LED's with the orange amber len film. Front lights 40W LED Floods, side lights 27W LED Floods
I notice the orange amber lights fully covered didnt attract as many bugs like the other light without the orange amber film. The pictures didnt do much justice. I thought they were pretty good. better than the white. I think IMO the orange tint could be less solid in color and more transparent. I'm on a search for the orange amber that is more transparent.
fully covered with orange amber film
with only 1/2 the lights covered in the len film but figuring out the solution and right combination of film will and is taking time. Trail & error. I tryed the orange amber tint, I can see about 2ft to 2 1/2" ft. as the picture I posted, and I was in 3 1/2ft to 4 1/2 water. But I wasn't totally happy either of the orange amber, mainly of the solidness of the tint film blocking more of the light out , seems to me, but it was better than the straight white light or the 1/2 tinted lights I tested too from my 40W's & 27W's as shown. But one major thing I was impress on was the amount of bugs around my light were cut almost by 2/3" with the orange amber tint. Alot of us have to deal with many of them pest during our night outings on the water. That their was impressive. (those pictures were also on the thread about soften of LED's) Saturday night (weather permits) I'll try out the transparent yellow lens tint and post up more pictures. But what I more exited about is finding & ordered was the "Light Yellow Amber" lens tint , just by the comparision its has is 1/2 tinted as the yellow amber tint. Now that maybe the solutions to this. I love shooting over the HP's but cant stand the headaches I get, I believe those lights are Ideal color and penetration in stained water, love the LED's but the down fall is light glare and lacks good penetration in stained waters.
