Just wondering how you guy find a fair way split up driving, gas, and driving the boat? For me I got cheap friends. I'm the only one who can pull a boat, so i tow the boat to the spot. Then I'm the only one who knows how to drive the boat, safely at least. 1st one is always free but after that it gets old. I'm sure they know how much it is in gas alone, but when they are using my bows, boat, and truck, I got alot more invested than what they see. Then they get mad when I dont take them anymore. Now am I just being a whiner, or do I have a good reason to be upset?

Me truck and boat. As for me if my bowfishings buddies don't want to pay I make them do everything from getting the boat off the trailer, off logs, sandbars, lift the trolling motor up and down, take my fish off the arrow. They get mad so I tell them when you start helping with gas etc. I'll stop making you do these things. I have some lazy friends.

Don't asked them to come over and help you clean the boat the next day you won't see them again until they want to go bowfishing.

I use my boat and my truck. It usually costs me about $15 per trip so I tell whoever I take up front that I need $10 to help with gas. If they complain they don't go. I figure if We're using all my stuff for the trip then It should be free to me gas wise because I invested all the time and money into the rig.

Thats the other part. I heard its illegal to ask for money to go out. Something to do with having a charter licence. They always take my fish off because Its hard to do while driving the boat. I dont ask for much but it frost me when they get mad because I dont invite them next time when they dont help out. I have lots of friends who want to go but a couple good buddies I go with mostly. Its kind of hard to tell them I got a full boat. B.A.F I like your idea about make them do more, I will have to try it. Or maybe I should have them wash my boat so I dont have to listen to them eveytime they get mad I didnt invite them. NuffDaddy I wish it only cost me $15. more like around $40 for me

No its not illeagal to ask for money. When I take people out bowfishing who are willing to pay, I stop before I get to the ramp and fill up boat and genny I get the receipt. When I'm done with the trip I show them the receipt and tell them this is what it cost me to take you bowfishing. It could be $20.00 to $50.00 depends and that's what I ask for is my money back are spilt it.

Some of our boat ramps here where I live in Florida you have to pay a lauch fee $3.00 up to $10.00 I ask them to pay for that to.

HELPFUL HINTS

Have insurance on your boat and for who ever is in your boat.

Let them know up front they are fishing at their own RISK but make them fill safe like ask them to wear a life vest while the boat is under power, show them where your safety equipment is.

Show them how the bow works how the reel works and how to aim and the rest of the ropes.

Make sure they have fishing license and ask to see it if they don't show you don't take them.

Let them know it cost you around $50.00 to $100.00 to go.

The trick is get to know how much your boat uses in fuel and your genny. Keep fuel in boat and genny all times never stop at the gas station on your way are on your way back do that after you drop them off cause you know it's only may cost you $40.00 to fill up and you can pocket the rest. When your done fishing check your fuel tank on your boat and genny at the boat ramp then you let them know you burned so much fuel in the boat and so much in the genny.

TIP: my genny holds 3 gals of fuel I'll fill it up but I'll tell them its a 5 gal tank. It cost me $25.00 dollars depends on fuel price for 3 gal I let them know we burned a tank of gas in the genny But which I only burned 2 gals cause I can ran my genny for 12hrs before I have to fill it back up so that'll be $40.00 depends on fuel price. Boat tank mine is a 30 gal tank it cost me $100.00 in fuel I'll let them know we burned 12 gals which I only burned 2 gals cause I get 10 miles on a gal of gas in my boat so that'll be $50.00 depends on fuel price.

So that's $90.00

$90.00

boat 2 gals gas $10.00 depends on fuel price

genny 2 gals gas $10.00 " "

____________

$70.00 pocket

Key to make money is know your boat and genny fuel usages.

Hope this makes since

that's definitely a perk living 2 miles from a free bot launch where I put in and drop the troller and start shooting.

I own my boat, i paid for.all the lights genny gear until the last trip i was the owner of the only 2 bows on the boat.

My buddy always drives the truck to wherever we go. Wether its an hour or 5 mins. I take care of the gas in the boat and the genny and buy ice. He takes care of gas in the truck. We get our own drinks and food.

We never complain or really talk.about it. If hes running short one weekend and asks for a little help ill help out.

Its all something you and your partners got to come to agreement with

Not really trying to make money off them, I just want to split it better. We all buy our own food and drinks but they also leave it up to me to fill the boat and truck( truck totalled by some drunk). We are all broke paying off school or rent so I want to make it fair.

To make it the most fair. Fill up truck boat and genny close to home. You pay for it.

After the trip, fill everything back up at the same gas station. Split it however many ways per amount of people on the boat.

I had a sticker made for my old SeaDoo, it said:
"My SeaDoo runs on gas not thanks"
The users either brought gas, or left cash. The abusers quit showing up.
